Do you believe in Original Sin ?
Q: Do you believe in Original Sin ?
Ans: Yes, I Do believe in Original Sin - It is in how
I interpreted the lessons I saw in Genesis and the equivalent teachings such
as in Buddhism. In both cases, Original Sin I saw as in not exercising our
Faculties when given the opportunity to do so.
Here is what I mean by this:
In the Book of Genesis God had intended for Adam and Eve to have Reason but
then in fact told them not to use it; instead they were to basically accept
blind obedience or be cast out of a perfect land !
Consider, If God meant for Adam and Eve to have Reason , then they would
have to leave Eden, or what good would the faculty of Reason be for, and
therefore a 'Reason to Be' ; That is if not to at least at the onset the
faculties of Reason to serve them, and their needs; or like a farmer knowing
his tools.
On the other hand - would it not be a Real Sin if Adam and Eve actually remained
complacently in Eden ? I would think any creator would be a real Boob if
they created a Universe, and then wanted those given the Faculties of Reason
to just tend the Creator's Flocks and Herds. This to me is more of a human
thing than that of a creator of our Universe.
We could also say that Orion's notion of something called 'The Gift of Divinity'
is all Heresy, but consider just the things we have paid for compared to
what we have not paid for; and then which do we value more, and that as an
individual, with Reason you are given the Opportunity to
go beyond simple guide lines fit for Crowds, that is if willing to Reason.
What this does afford is that in learning we can either be Stymied, or learn
a Wisdom. If Stymied we feel cheated in life, but with Wisdom we can make
a further investment in life; There of course is no guarantee as to the pay
back of such an investment, but there is a guarantee what happens to your
life if Stymied.
Then we can ask ourselves - So What is Life - is it a prescribed path - where
'your Hormones go off, and then you Nest' - well we can say that this is
basically life, but is also symbolizes much about the foundations of life;
or that 'Reason to Be' as earlier noted.
If we say we are made up of the Primordial, the Spiritual, as well as the
conscious day to day world, and is something that is us, in that it is part
of us, but yet greater than us; hence we can have a relationship with our
God. Reason then allows us to have these parts, as in their harmony
as a Trinity provides our 'Reason to Be'.
So basically for me, Original Sin is in dismissing what Life can really afford
us and others by choosing not to not to think about it - Life is not such
a simple item, and when not thinking about it, it can pass us by. In a leadership
role, if we don't think about it, then we have done a dis-service to others.
